10 Restaurant Burgers That Have Over 1000 Calories

There are many unhealthy burgers at restaurants and some of them go over 1000 calories. Here are 10 burgers at restaurants and fast food establishments that have the highest calorie content.

Most people know that burgers are not a healthy choice for a meal, but few people are aware of just how unhealthy they can be. The average adult should consume only 2000 calories per day, but eating a lot of burgers will get you past that figure in a hurry. Here are 10 restaurant and fast food burgers that are over 1000 calories just by themselves.

Wendy’s - Dave’s Hot & Juicy ¾ lb Triple – 1060 calories

If a burger has the word “triple” it, then that is usually a sign that this burger is not going to be a healthy choice. This tall burger has 3 pieces of meat and 3 slices of American cheese. You should stick with the single.

Carls Jr – Double Steakhouse Burger – 1120 calories

Carl’s Jr has never tried to offer a selection of healthy alternatives or even remotely suggest that their burgers could be good for your health. They only advertise that their burgers taste good. The Double Steakhouse Burger is a prime example of not trying to be healthy. It has mayo, A-1 steak sauce, crumpled blue cheese onion strings, Swiss cheese, and 2 beef patties. That is a lot of unhealthy items to put on a burger.

Burger King - Triple Whopper – 1140 calories

The Triple Whopper at Burger King does not have any exotic ingredients. It just has 3 pieces of meat and 2 slices of American cheese. Somehow Burger King has turned the simple ingredients into the unhealthiest burger on their menu.

Whataburger – Chop House Cheddar Burger – 1170 calories

The Chop House Burger from Whataburger is only offered in certain parts of the United States. Judging by the calorie content of this burger, it makes you wonder just where they would offer this. If it is not available in your area, don’t be discouraged, the Triple Meat burger has 1120 calories.

Red Robin – All American Patty Melt – 1254 calories

The All American Patty Melt from Red Robin only has 1 patty and 2 slices of cheese. It is probably the Thousand Island dressing that is raising the calorie content so high.

Sonic – Supersonic Bacon Double Cheeseburger w/mayo -1280 calories

It is difficult to find any burger at Sonic that is not loaded with calories. They have 5 different burgers that are over 1100 calories. This one just happens to be the worst of the bunch.

Hardees – 2/3 lb Monster Thickburger - 1290 calories

Hardees was not exaggerating when they put the word “monster” in the title. This beat has 2 patties, 4 strips of bacon, and 3 slices of cheese. It has more calories than just about every other fast food burger on the market. If that is not bad enough, it also has 92g of fat.

Applebee’s – Quesadilla Burger – 1390 calories

Instead of the typical bun, the Quesadilla Burger has flour tortillas to hold all the ingredients together. They obviously did not do this for health reasons since it has nearly 1400 calories. It also has an amazing 101g of fat and 3610mg sodium. This is more than the recommended daily allowance for the entire day.

Chili’s – Southern Smokehouse Burger w/Ancho Cile BBQ – 1690 calories

The menu at Chili’s has some of the highest calorie items that you will ever find at any restaurant. This burger weighs in at almost 1700 calories by itself. Unfortunately it is served with a side of fries which pushes this meal to over 2200 calories. You had better skip the dessert.

Cheesecake Factory – Ranch House Burger – 1887 calories

The Cheesecake Factory has some of the unhealthiest items that you will ever find on a restaurant menu. This burger has an astonishing 1887 calories and 2831mg of sodium all by itself. If you added a soda with this burger, you be over the calorie limit for the entire day.

Very good article!

Wow...that's a lot of calories! No wonder so many Americans are reportedly over weight. I"ll stick to baked chicken and fish, fruits and vegetables. And I'm not LOL. Article is very detailed and nicely written. Thanks for posting this information. Voted up

This is alarming since this burgers are really popular..

Great share. Wendy's is my favorite. None of them seems to be good for diabetics restricting calories to 600 a day.
